Company collaborates with Marvin to provide access to
specialized mental health support for health care professionals
The Hartford, a leading provider of employee benefits and leave
management, is collaborating with Marvin Behavioral Health1 to
provide The Hartford’s life and disability insurance customers in
the health care industry with access to mental health resources
designed to meet the unique needs of health care professionals.
This effort is part of The Hartford’s continued focus on providing
its customers of all sizes in the health care industry with
specialized insurance coverage and dedicated support teams.
“Health care professionals deliver compassionate care every day
and our employer customers in this industry are looking for a
benefits experience that provides exceptional care for their own
employees, including additional support for mental health,” said
John Gallant, head of product and underwriting for Group Benefits
at The Hartford. “Health care employees often face difficult
situations in the course of their work, such as losing a patient,
delivering hard news to a patient or family, or other traumatic
experiences that may affect their mental health. We believe it is
critical to connect our customers with Marvin to help them
holistically support the well-being of their employees.”
The Hartford’s 2024 Future of Benefits study shows that many
health care workers in the U.S. are in need of mental health
support:
- 64% of health care workers are experiencing some level of
burnout at work, with 26% saying they always/often experience
burnout;
- 21% say their mental health always or almost always negatively
impacts their productivity at work;
- 29% struggle with depression or anxiety at least a few times
per week; and
- 63% believe their company should be providing more mental
health tools and resources.
Marvin works exclusively with health systems, medical groups,
residency programs, and health care employers to connect their
employees with quality mental health care. Their services
include:
- Licensed therapists trained to work specifically with health
care workers;
- 24/7 video call availability to meet scheduling needs;
- Sessions covered by most commercial insurance plans;
- No limit to the number of therapy sessions; and
- Employer insight into key clinical measurements and
de-identified demographics to improve workplace-related drivers of
mental health concerns.
The Hartford’s life or disability insurance customers that
select to work with Marvin may receive a discount directly from
Marvin on their service offerings.1
