SAO PAULO--Companhia Brasileira de Distribuicao (CBD, PCAR4.BR), Brazil's largest retailer in terms of revenue, posted fourth-quarter and full-year net sales increases, fueled by gains at its nonfood businesses.

The company, controlled by French retail group Casino Guichard-Perrachon SA (CGUSY, CO.FR), said late Tuesday that its net revenue totaled 19.66 billion reais ($7.42 billion), up 16.2% from the year-earlier period.

For full-year 2014, CBD's net sales totaled BRL65.5 billion, up 13.3% from 2013.

E-commerce business CNova and Via Varejo--which operates Brazil's biggest home-appliance retail chains, Casas Bahia and Ponto Frio--posted a collective increase of 29% in net revenue in the fourth quarter and a 18.4% gain in 2014, CBD said.

GPA Alimentar, CBD's foodstuffs division, posted a 5.8% gain in net revenue in the latest quarter and a 9.2% advance for the full year.
