PARIS--French retailer Groupe Casino (CO.FR) said Wednesday that sales dropped in the first half, dragged down by a sharp drop in sales at its electronic business in Latin America and currency headwinds.

The company said overall revenue in the first half fell 1.5% to 11.76 billion euros ($12.95 billion). Organic growth meanwhile was down 0.4%, with declines in the Latin American business partially offset by increased activity in the French retail business.

The company didn't provide guidance for its second half in the sales update.
