Kendall Howard today
announced the launch of its Anti-Theft PC Security Stand, the industry’s
most advanced method for keeping PC hardware safe from theft and general
damage.
“Organizations everywhere are seeking to
protect their computer equipment and the intellectual property they
store,” said Randy Herreid, president and
CEO, Kendall Howard. “Our new Anti-Theft PC
Security Stand gives IT managers in corporate organizations a powerful,
cost-effective deterrent while still allowing access to key technology
resources.”
Unlike existing systems designed with plastic interlocks or cables that
are quickly bypassed, the Kendall Howard stand is constructed with
heavy-duty steel brackets that can be securely screwed to a desktop. The
unit secures a small form factor PC and a 15-inch to 22-inch LCD monitor
without limiting usage, such as the ability to tilt a computer screen up
and down.
“The stand also prevents unauthorized access
to the computer’s hard drive,”
said Herreid. “This preventive measure has
proven to significantly reduce the loss of equipment and, more
importantly, of data held in the computers –
the value of which is often in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.”
There are many other computer theft and data recovery statistics that
suggest preventive measures are vital to a corporation’s
bottom line, including:
Eighty-five percent of organizations report that they have had a data
breach event.
Scott and Scott LLP and Ponemon Institute LLC, May 15, 2007
Only 35 percent of IT professionals in midmarket companies say they
are equipped to deal with lost corporate or personal data.
King Research survey of IT professionals sponsored by KACE, March 2007
The Anti-Theft PC Security Stand, which is now available for shipment
through the Kendall Howard dealer network, features ventilated support
brackets, high-grade security screws, and cable management for
peripherals, including the mouse, keyboard, speakers and headphones. To
