General Electric Co. (GE) and Vivendi SA (VIV.FR) are at least $1 billion apart on their valuation of the French group's stake in NBC Universal, the Financial Times reported Friday on its Web site, citing unnamed people familiar with the negotiations.
The situation dims hopes for a quick resolution to a standoff that is delaying Comcast Corp.'s bid for NBC Universal, the report said.
GE and Comcast have been working toward an announcement Monday, but GE and Vivendi remain $1 billion to $2 billion apart on the valuation of the French group’s 20% stake in NBC Universal, the people said, according to the report.
GE and Vivendi declined comment, the Financial Times said.
