Greenlight Resources, Inc. (TSX-V: GR) (PINKSHEETS: PRZCF) may have gained an edge in lithium and rare earth mining after announcing a successful test of a chlorination process in extracting economic minerals at its Brazil Lake property in eastern Canada that sets the stage for pilot plant construction.

The patented technology uses a chlorination process at multiple temperatures within a vacuum that produces chloride vapors. These various gases are then passed through water, precipitating various chlorides with the final stage being the production of SiCl4, explained Dr. Ian Flint, the independent engineer retained by the company to confirm if this technology could be applied to the extraction of economic minerals from Greenlight Resources' Brazil Lake lithium and rare metals project.

Greenlight Resources (GR) acquired the Silchlor, Inc. chlorination technology when it acquired its Brazil Lake property from Champlain Mineral Ventures Limited of Bridgetown, Nova Scotia.

Greenlight Resources President, Christopher R. Anderson, said in a telephone interview Tuesday evening, "This process is a revolutionary approach to extraction."

Anderson went on to say that it "could open up a world of opportunities" on other properties that are not economically viable using current mining technologies once the process was proven, though he was quick to point out that Greenlight Resources agreement only includes its Brazil Lake property.

Plans call for further testing in preparation of building a pilot plant though no concrete information was being made available at this time.
