--Enel SpA is in discussions with Swiss cryptocurrency company Envion AG to sell it power from renewable-energy plants, unnamed sources told Bloomberg.

--According to Bloomberg, Europe's largest utility is evaluating the market for selling electricity to miners of digital currencies, which require huge amounts of energy to power the calculations that confirm transactions.

--A Bloomberg report said demand for electricity from bitcoin miners had soared to 20.5 terawatt-hours a year at the end of 2017.
