Shares of telecommunications companies rose, but not by as much as the broad market, as traders rotated into more economically sensitive sectors. France's Orange expanded its 12-member executive committee to 15 members, as part of the cell-phone carrier's plan to accelerate its transformation into a more diversified telecom concern. Telecom Italia said it isn't giving up control of the selling process for its Persidera stake despite transferring its holding to a blind trust.
