Standard Chartered PLC (STAN.LN) said on Friday that head of compliance Neil Barry has been placed on leave, but wouldn't give any more information.

The bank said that Tracey McDermott, Standard Chartered's head of corporate, public and regulatory affairs, is temporarily taking over the compliance role.

Ms. McDermott was previously appointed as the acting chief executive of U.K. finance regulator, the Financial Conduct Authority, in September 2015, before leaving the organization in July 2016.
