Conquest Asset Management said Friday that it has invested in five onshore wind farms in the Flanders region of Belgium as part of an exclusive agreement with Engie SA (ENGI.FR), as the Dublin-based firm ramps up investments in renewable energy in Western Europe.

Conquest, a money-manager with around 250 million euros ($277.4 million) under management, said its Conquest Sustainable Infrastructure fund acquired 51% of a portfolio that could power up to 32,000 Belgian homes from 2021 onward, totaling 43 megawatts of capacity.

The price of the deal wasn't disclosed.

Funds focused on renewable energy in Europe are growing larger as the continent boosts investments and regulations to meet its 2050 ambition of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions.

Last year, Glennmont Partners and Natixis's (KN.FR) Mirova launched two of the largest green infrastructure funds in Europe's history. Mirova said it raised EUR857 million, while Glennmont raised EUR850 million.
