Exxon Mobil Corp.'s (XOM) refinery in Beaumont, Texas, reported
a tripped compressor over the weekend at a gasoline-making fluid
catalytic cracking unit that resulted in the flaring of gases.
"Process streams were routed to the flares to minimize
emissions," the refinery said in a statement to the Texas
Commission on Environmental Quality, noting the above-normal gas
flaring happened Sunday and lasted less than three hours. "All
contractual commitments are anticipated to be met."
The 362,000-barrel-a-day Beaumont refinery is 90 miles east of
Houston.
