MAN SE said Thursday that its MAN Truck & Bus business is resuming plans to close a plant in Steyr, Austria, after most of the site's employees voted against a takeover by WSA Beteiligungs GmbH.

Martin Rabe, chief HR officer at MAN Truck & Bus, said the outcome was disappointing.

"Unfortunately, there was obviously still too little transparency within the workforce about the really good concept of WSA Beteiligungs GmbH," he said.

The site's review was announced as part of the German company's restructuring of its trucks-and-bus business in 2020, which includes cutting 9,500 jobs.
