BT Group PLC said Thursday that it will recruit around 1,000 staff for its new office in Birmingham, England.

The telecoms company said there are around 225 roles currently available in areas such as digital, data, analytics, sales and human resources. BT said the office was its first major regional hub to open outside London and will eventually have around 3,500 staff.

The company is reducing its locations to around 30 from more than 300. Other regional hubs are planned for Manchester, Bristol and a new headquarters in London.

In 2018, BT said it would cut 13,000 jobs over three years, or about 12% of its workforce, in order to save 1.5 billion pounds ($2.08 billion), but also hire about 6,000 employees.
