Rio Tinto PLC said strategy and development executive Peter Toth has stepped down after accepting a job offer elsewhere.

The world's No. 2 miner by market value said Mr. Toth's responsibilities will be divided between current executives.

Mr. Toth will remain in an advisory role until the end of the year and leave the company in April, Rio Tinto said.
