Tesco PLC said Thursday that it has appointed Debbie Walker as chief risk officer and Gary Duggan as chief insurance officer and chief executive of Tesco Underwriting, a subsidiary of Tesco Bank, effective immediately.

The U.K.'s biggest grocer by market share said that Ms. Walker and Mr. Duggan have held the roles on an interim basis since June. Ms. Walker will also become a member of the Tesco Bank board.

The company said that Ms. Walker joined the company in 2017 as head of risk operations. Prior to Tesco, she worked for Royal Bank of Scotland Group.

Mr. Duggan has more than 30 years' experience in the financial services and insurance industry running businesses in the U.K., Asia and the Middle East. His previous roles include senior advisor at Oxbow Partners and chief executive of Saga Services.
