Airbus SE has halted several activities in Russia amid the
imposition of international sanctions following Russia's invasion
of Ukraine.
The European plane maker has stopped supplying spare parts to
Russia, as well as support services to airlines in the country "in
line with international sanctions now in place," it said in a
statement sent to media Wednesday.
"Services provided by the Airbus Engineering Centre in Russia
(ECAR) have also been suspended pending further review," it
said.
The engineering centre--created in 2003--is a joint venture
between three companies and currently employs some 200 Russian
engineers, according to Airbus's website.
The European Union sanctions recently barred parts for Airbus
and other aircraft being exported to Russia.
Airbus's U.S. rival Boeing Co. has also suspended parts and
maintenance support for Russian carriers.
