Moderna Inc. named Jorge Gomez its new chief financial officer,
succeeding David Meline who the company said will retire but remain
on as a consultant to ensure a smooth transition.
Earlier Monday, dental-products manufacturer Dentsply Sirona
Inc. said Mr. Gomez would step down as its finance chief. He will
start in his new role as CFO of Moderna on May 9, the vaccine maker
said.
"As we grow and scale the company globally, Jorge's experience
leading the financial functions of multinational healthcare
companies will be an asset to our team," Chief Executive Stephane
Bancel said. "Jorge's passion for sustainability and ESG aligns
closely with Moderna's vision to make corporate responsibility a
critical part of who we are and what we do."
Shares of Moderna fell 3% in premarket trading on Monday.
Before serving as CFO of Dentsply Sirona, Mr. Gomez was CFO of
Cardinal Health Inc.
