Kimberly-Clark Corp. on Friday boosted its sales-growth projection for 2022, but warned costs of synthetic material, pulp and energy were set to rise higher than it had anticipated.

The maker of Huggies diapers and Kleenex tissues forecast full-year sales growth of 2% to 4%, up from a prior assumption of 1% to 2%, with organic sales now expected to rise 4% to 6%.

Kimberly-Clark reiterated its target for earnings, adjusted to exclude certain items, of $5.60 to $6 a share.

The company boosted its projection for key cost inputs to $1.1 billion to $1.3 billion from a prior estimate of $750 million to $900 million, reflecting higher costs of polymer materials, pulp--a key ingredient of paper products--energy and distribution.
