Norway's TECO 2030 ASA on Monday launched a new hydrogen-powered tanker concept, Hy-Ekotank, together with partners Ektank AB, Shell Shipping and Maritime, and DNV.

TECO 2030 is an engineering company that is developing hydrogen fuel cells and other solutions to help the maritime industry reduce its emissions, such as exhaust gas cleaning and carbon capture systems for ships.

This new hydrogen-powered tanker concept will allow zero emissions at berth and up to 100% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions during voyage, it said.
