McDonald's Corp. said it is adding three new directors to its board as longtime board member Sheila Penrose prepares to step down.

Ms. Penrose, who has served as a director of McDonald's since 2006, will retire from the board effective Sept. 30, the company said.

Marriott International Inc. Chief Executive Tony Capuano, Johnson & Johnson Worldwide Chairman of Pharmaceuticals Jennifer Taubert and Salesforce Inc. Chief Financial Officer Amy Weaver will join the board effective Oct. 1, McDonald's said.

"For over 15 years, Sheila has been a deeply committed and highly valued member of our board," McDonald's Chairman Enrique Hernandez Jr. said. "It is a testament to this great brand, and a continuation of the rich legacy of its Board, that we are welcoming such experienced, global leaders to help steward McDonald's continued success.
