Airbus SE said Tuesday that it delivered more aircraft in 2022
than in the previous year despite withdrawing its full-year target
in early December.
The European plane maker said Tuesday that it delivered 661
commercial aircraft in 2022, compared with the 611 it had delivered
to customers in 2021.
The company acknowledged that its year-end deliveries were
"obviously less" than what it had targeted.
Airbus CEO Guillaume Faury said in a media call Tuesday that
supply-chains would likely remain constrained in 2023.
In early December, Airbus withdrew its 2022 target of delivering
around 700 planes, amid what it called a "complex operating
environment" which put that target out of reach.
Airbus booked 1,078 gross new orders for aircraft and its order
backlog stood at 7,239 at the end of 2022, Airbus said.
Airbus delivered 98 planes in December compared with 68 in
November and 60 in October.
Airbus will report its 2022 full-year financial results on Feb.
16.
