Meta Platforms Inc. on Wednesday reported its first increase in sales in nearly a year due to continued improvements in its advertising business. Shares of the social media giant jumped 12% to $233.80 in after-hours trading.

Teradyne Inc. reported first-quarter adjusted earnings that beat Wall Street's expectations by 28%. Shares of the maker of automatic test systems rose 7.2% to $100 in after-hours trading.

United Rentals Inc. posted lower-than-expected earnings in its latest quarter. Shares of the equipment rental company fell 5.6% to $353.96 in after-hours trading.

Sangamo Therapeutics Inc. said it would reduce its U.S. workforce by 27%, or about 120 roles, as it restructures to focus on a limited number of areas. Shares of the clinical stage biotech increased 5% to $1.69 in after-hours trading.
