Shell has temporarily taken a unit offline at its 404,000 b/d Pernis refinery in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, to repair a leak, the company said in a post to social media Tuesday.

"Due to a leak on one of our units, it has been decided to temporarily take it out of operation in a controlled manner for repair," Shell tweeted. "Stopping and restarting the unit may be accompanied by flares."

The company did not comment on which unit was affected or how long it would be offline.
