--ArcelorMittal SA is considering a potential offer for U.S. Steel, Reuters reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

--The steelmaker is discussing a possible offer with its investment bankers, though there isn't a guarantee it will press ahead, the report said.

--If a offer were to come, it would follow recent bids for U.S. Steel by steelmaker Cleveland-Cliffs and privately held company Esmark.
