Media Mogul Byron Allen Offered $10 Billion for Disney's Broadcast Network, Bloomberg Reports

--Media mogul Byron Allen has offered $10 billion for Walt
Disney Co.'s flagship broadcast network as well as the FX and
National Geographic cable channels, Bloomberg reported, citing a
person familiar with his proposal.
--Allen's offer is based on the assumption that the properties
generated $1.25 billion in earnings before interest, taxes,
depreciation and amortization over the past 12 months, the report
said. If that number is lower or higher, Allen would change his
proposed price, Bloomberg reported.
--Allen would work with banks and private equity firms to
finance an acquisition, Bloomberg reported.
--The offer comes as earlier this week Disney settled a dispute
with Charter Communications that resulted in a brief blackout of
popular channels, as well as Disney stating it has made no decision
on whether it will sell its ABC television network or other
properties in its linear broadcasting business following a report
by Bloomberg on Thursday.
