The major new feature being support for the iMac and macOS Catalina. iMac support was added in response to many requests from our users. The reduced cost was made possible by advanced technologies and wider distribution.

The SDK makes it as easy as possible and as low cost as possible for any software developer to add document scanning functionality to any browser-based application. Adding document scanning functionality to a web-based application has always had its challenges but even more so when supporting Apple devices and operating systems. After release 1.0, we had requests from users to add support for the iMac and macOS. We decided to do this and make the iMac functionality part of the standard product. This means developers only require a single license for both Windows and macOS development.

With both simplified and low-cost licensing this means any developer can now add document scanning capabilities at a fraction of the cost of developing it from scratch. There are also no royalties involved and no complex licensing rules. It is simply one license per developer, the first year of maintenance free and optional maintenance after that.

Note that existing customers of the RecFind 6 Product Suite will receive this new functionality free of charge in their next major update.
