CHARLOTTE, N.C., May 17, 2021 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/
-- Charlotte, NC-based home textiles company Delilah Home is a winner in Good Housekeeping
magazine's "Best Bedding" awards for its 100 percent organic hemp
sheets. The full list of winning products will be featured on Good
Housekeeping May 17th.
The Good Housekeeping home editors, GH Institute Textiles Lab
scientists, and over 100 consumer sleep testers reviewed 9,847 data
points in a blind comparison before selecting the winners. They
test the sheets by evaluating criteria such as fabric strength,
pilling resistance, wrinkle resistance, and shrinkage from
laundering.
"Delilah Home is particularly
proud to have won a Good Housekeeping Best Bedding award as we go
the extra mile to ensure our products are high quality,
comfortable, and organic from field to sheet," says Delilah Home
CEO Michael Twer. Since Delilah Home launched the organic hemp sheets
line in November, 2019, sales have soared, with sales on the
company's website as well as at Bloomingdales, The Grommet, Macy's
and Zola.com.
This is the first time that Good Housekeeping has given such an
award to hemp sheets, given that Delilah
Home only recently launched the sheets line, the nation's
first extensive collection of hemp sheets. The sheets are available
in white, light grey, natural, and mineral green, and are 50
percent thicker than most sheets with a 180 GSM thread-count,
offering natural softness. The sheets are made in Portugal, a country renowned for quality
textile manufacturing.
This isn't the first time Delilah
Home has won accolades – the Wall Street Journal says: "They
hit a delightful balance between textured and soft. Like a heavy
linen's, their heft was cozy and reassuring. Worth the splurge." In
2020, the Sleep Foundation named Delilah
Home's hemp sheets some of the "Best Cooling Sheets" that
not only allow cool air to reach the sleeper's body but can wick
away excess moisture to keep the sleeper dry and comfortable.
The sheets are certified organic from field to finished product
to the stringent Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). GOTS
requires the use of organic fiber and prohibits the use of
hazardous processing inputs while also demanding adherence to
strict worker and environmental standards. Not only do the sheets
have a comfortable linen-like texture, but hemp is highly
absorbent, antimicrobial, and long-lasting – perfect for the
sustainable home.
Delilah Home also makes a range
of plush organic cotton towels that absorb water easily and have a
pile that is luxurious to the touch. They are available in sizes
ranging from hand towels to bath sheets. The silky soft 300 thread
count sheets and duvet covers also are made of 100 percent organic
cotton.
The interest in - and demand for - organic fiber products is
only growing. Organic fiber sales in the U.S. reached another
record in 2019, hitting $2.1 billion
and posting a 15 percent increase from 2018, according to the
Organic Trade Association's 2020 Organic Industry Survey. The
organic fiber and textiles category continues to rank as the
largest non-food organic category in the overall $52.5 billion U.S. market.
