Employees Enrolled in Spectrum's Education
Benefit Have a 24% Higher Promotion Rate Than
Non-Engaged Peers and 10% Higher Retention
STAMFORD, Conn., March 19,
2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Spectrum today announced that
its Education Benefit, which covers 100% of tuition costs upfront
for full-time employees pursuing select online degree and
certificate programs, is driving career mobility and retention
amongst its workforce since launching in August 2023. Employees enrolled in Spectrum's
Education Benefit have received promotions at a rate 24% higher
than non-engaged employees, and the Company retains participants at
a 10% higher rate than non-participants.

More than 13,000 Spectrum employees have participated in or
completed a program since the Education Benefit launched, a rate
that is 8.5 times higher than the Company's legacy program. Of
those participants, 68% are frontline, customer-facing U.S.
employees. Spectrum's Education Benefit provides tuition-free
access to nearly 300 online degree and certificate programs from 30
universities and learning providers, allowing employees to gain
skills in high-demand areas, like operations management, marketing
and technology, to advance their careers with Spectrum.
"Spectrum's 100% U.S.-based workforce keeps our customers
connected, and we're focused on providing them with the support
they need to build long, rewarding careers with us," said
Paul Marchand, Executive Vice
President and Chief Human Resources Officer. "With market-leading
benefits, self-progression programs that guarantee wage increases
and now tuition-free degrees, we're giving employees more
opportunities than ever to grow, because when they succeed, so does
Spectrum."
Breaking Down Barriers to Continued Education
Spectrum
previously reimbursed employees up to $10,000 per year at the college or university of
their choice through its legacy program. Now, Spectrum's Education
Benefit, powered by talent development company Guild, provides
full-time employees with tuition-free access to hundreds of degree
and certificate programs, helping them to start, continue or
complete their education and develop skills for in-demand roles,
without the burden of any out-of-pocket expenses.
"Spectrum is leading the way in talent development by removing
financial barriers and providing employees access to high-quality
learning programs to develop the skills needed for in-demand
careers," said Bijal Shah, CEO of
Guild. "This not only empowers employees to grow, but also
strengthens Spectrum's workforce, supporting engagement and
building talent pipelines for long-term business impact. We're
proud to partner with Spectrum to make education more accessible
and cultivate the next generation of leaders and innovators within
the company."
Free Tuition Expands Employees' Career Advancement
Potential
Employees across Spectrum's 41-state service area are enrolling in
courses to start or continue their education, making big strides
towards their career goals. Tracy Rodriguez, a Sales
Activation Specialist with Spectrum in San Antonio, Texas, is pursuing a degree in
Digital Marketing from Oregon State
University. A mother of five working full-time at Spectrum,
she once thought higher education was out of her reach, but the
Education Benefit changed that, giving her the flexibility to
pursue her degree while managing work and family life. In
Winston-Salem, North Carolina,
Kameryn Cofield, a Field Technician, is studying for a degree in
Computer Science from Purdue Global, which is helping her connect
her field work to the broader tech landscape.
"Understanding the basics of how the internet and computers work
is one thing, but now I have the confidence to ask deeper questions
and solve complex problems," said Ms. Cofield. "Thanks to the Education Benefit, I'm
on my way to completing my college education and am one step closer
to advancing my career."
Spectrum's Education Benefit, honored last fall with
Guild's Impact Amplifier Award, is helping the
Company retain talented, driven employees. It is yet another way
that Spectrum is investing in a skilled, U.S. based workforce that
can best serve customers, adding to a competitive $20 per hour starting minimum wage; additional
variable compensation eligibility for over 80% of employees;
high-quality healthcare with premium cost increases absorbed by
Spectrum for the last 12 years; and a market-leading retirement
plan with a company contribution of up to 9% of pay per year.
