AGM STATEMENT

At the Annual General Meeting of Castings plc today, Chairman Brian Cooke will
make the following comments to shareholders:

I have very little to add to my statement in May.Although the first three months
up to the end of June were similar to last year, sales are now running at a
reduced level,which coupled with increased raw material prices,makes it
difficult to forecast the effect on profits in the full year.
