Appointment of Corporate Stockbroker

Bartercard Plc, the leading global trade exchange for member businesses,
announces it has appointed Hichens, Harrison & Co. plc ("Hichens, Harrison") as
its corporate stockbroker. Hichens, Harrison is the City of London's
oldest-established stockbroking firm, with an unbroken history dating back over
two centuries; it concentrates on natural resources, smaller companies and,
increasingly, on the specialist financial services' segment.

Hichens, Harrison will be initiating investment research coverage on Bartercard
within the near future. Bartercard has agreed a remuneration package with its
new broker, which includes deferred equity striking at levels at a premium of up
to 52% to the 141/2 pence share price on signing.

Welcoming the appointment, Chairman Wayne Sharpe recorded his appreciation while
broker to Bartercard of Nabarro Wells & Co. Limited's help and looked forward to
that firm's continuing support in its role as Nominated Adviser to Bartercard.
