                      THE BARING EMERGING EUROPE TRUST PLC


At the extraordinary general meeting of The Baring Emerging Europe Trust PLC
(the "Company") held today, a special resolution was passed for the Company to 
be wound up voluntarily and for Richard Setchim and Ian Oakley Smith, both of 
PricewaterhouseCoopers, Plumtree Court, London EC4A 4HT to be appointed as 
liquidators of the Company.
