Appointment of new additional member to the board of Eesti
Energia
The Supervisory Council proposed in the general meeting to amend
the article of association of Eesti Energia regarding the number of
board members that the company can have. New articles of
association were confirmed on April 12, 2023. With the amendment it
is now possible to appoint 6 board members instead of 5.
The Supervisory Counsel has appointed Andres Vainola as the 6th
member of the board of Eesti Energia. Vainola has been in the Eesti
Energia group since 2014, when he joined the company as a member of
the board. From 2021, he is the chairman of the board of Enefit
Power, the group's non-renewable energy production company.
Previously, he worked in the management of the Empower group and
its subsidiaries and was a member of the Council of Eesti
Liinirongid AS. The decision to bring a representative of Enefit
Power to the board of Eesti Energia stems from the fact that Enefit
Power is currently the largest subsidiary of Eesti Energia, which
also faces bigger challenges in the coming years.
Vainola will also continue as chairman of the board of Enefit
Power, his mandate as a board member will begin on April 14, 2023,
and the term of office will be the same as that of other board
members, March 31, 2026.
