NEW BRANCH ACQUIRED IN LEICESTERSHIRE


Gibbs and Dandy plc has strengthened its presence in the South Midlands by
acquiring Carson Fletcher Timber Limited, a single-branch timber merchant based
in Market Harborough, Leicestershire.

The initial cash consideration is #1.0m plus an additional amount for net assets
not exceeding #0.373m. Turnover for the year ended 31st January 2007 was #1.87m.

Gibbs and Dandy ('the Company') already has three branches in the South
Midlands, a region where future growth is forecast. The Directors believe that
Market Harborough is a good strategic fit with the Company's existing branches
in Northamptonshire.

This latest acquisition brings the Company's total number of branches to eleven.
