                         JAPANESE CAM SOFTWARE AGREEMENT


VI Group plc ("VI" or "the Group"), one of the leading suppliers of CAD/CAM
software to the mould and die sector, announces today that its Japanese
subsidiary has entered into a collaborative distribution agreement with Hitachi
Zosen Information Systems Co., Ltd ("HZS") for its Computer Aided Manufacturing
(CAM) products. HZS will license the VI products for use in Japan, China and the
Pacific rim area. HZS are the largest vendor of CAM systems in Japan and the
third largest in the world according to US based independent analyst CIMDATA.


The agreement provides for minimum payments to VI of approximately #1.4m over
the next three years at current exchange rates. VI shall be providing some
specific technical resources in support of the new contract.


Commenting on the announcement, Don Babbs, Chief Executive of VI, said:
