Air Force Materiel Command Awards DRC Design Engineering Support Program II ID/IQ Contract ANDOVER, Mass., July 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dynamics Research Corporation (NASDAQ:DRCO) announced today that the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) granted the company an Indefinite Delivery-Indefinite Quantity (ID/IQ) Design Engineering and Support Program II (DESP II) contract with a ceiling of $1.9 billion to provide design, engineering and technical support services. Task orders under the contract may be received through June, 2010 and must be completed by June, 2012. DRC is one of 10 prime contractors on the award and assembled a team of 30 subcontractors, including 22 small and/or disadvantaged businesses. "The effects of uncertain funding levels and the looming threat of base closure with its resultant realignments are compounded by the need to get equipment quickly to the warfighter in ongoing operations in order to sustain current weapon systems," said DRC senior vice president and general manager, Robert L. "Our DESP prime experience, the possession of deep technical expertise to meet the military's needs, a superior program management team, and a superb group of subcontractors provides DRC the latitude to successfully serve the DoD." AFMC evaluated 29 contract bids, and awarded six prime contracts and four small business set-aside contracts. To win its prime contract, DRC demonstrated technical excellence in engineering design, integration, system modifications, process analysis, and maintenance/repair operations.
