DRC to Develop Missions and Means Framework ANDOVER, Mass., Sept. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dynamics Research Corporation (NASDAQ:DRCO) today announced the company was awarded a new prime contract for $2.8 million from the Department of Defense's (DoD) Defense Modeling and Simulation Office (DMSO) and U.S. Army Research Laboratory. Under the terms of the contract, DRC will provide the development, implementation and transition of the Missions and Means Framework as the Lead System Integrator for the DMSO. The Missions and Means Framework is an integrated procedure for deriving mission requirements and providing survivability, lethality and vulnerability analysis and evaluation support. Its goal is to help enable DoD transformation from a forces-based and material-centric Cold War posture to a mission-based, capability-centric warfare focus. "The development of the Missions and Means Framework is critical to acquiring and developing systems against the full spectrum of battlefield threats," said James P. Regan, DRC chairman and chief executive officer. The employment of the Missions and Means Framework will be realized in three focus areas, including the U.S. Army's Future Combat Systems Acquisition Program, Joint Readiness Mission for the Joint National Training Capability, and the use of the Missions and Means Framework in support of Test and Evaluation. DRC's work on this one-year project began August 10, 2005, and is being implemented by Dynamic Research's Training and Performance Support practice.
