- State Adopts Automated Child Welfare System As A Result Of Competitive Procurement Process - ANDOVER, Mass., April 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dynamics Research Corporation (NASDAQ:DRCO), a leading provider of innovative engineering, technical and information technology services and solutions to federal and state governments, today announced that the state of Tennessee has selected DRC, by competitive award, for a $25.5 million contract to develop and implement a new Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS). The effort is expected to begin in the second quarter of this year with deployment scheduled to occur in early 2010. Under the terms of the contract DRC will implement a fully automated web-based statewide child welfare system that supports child welfare cases from intake to closure. "Following on the successful implementation of the Ohio SACWIS program, DRC is committed to developing and deploying another statewide automated child welfare system to the state of Tennessee," said James P. Regan, DRC's chairman and chief executive officer. "With real-time access to critical information, agency workers can make informed decisions that will help protect and ensure better outcomes for children and provide needed services to the children and their families." DRC will implement a new, tailored web based application that provides a timely and consistent statewide system allowing all case workers in Tennessee to share information. SACWIS tracks child welfare cases through the life cycle of a child entering the state system, including eligibility for certain services, receipt of services and providers' certification and authentication to provide such services. DRC's SACWIS solutions successfully automate case management procedures to state, federal and caseworker requirements, using processes that enhance quality, save time and money, and reduce risk. Furthermore, they fully support ongoing funding, policy, organizational, and legislative changes by operating in a technical environment that is flexible, extensible, and based on industry and state architectural standards.
