DRC Launches Statewide Automated Child Welfare System Pilot Program in Tennessee
22 Junho 2010 - 9:01AM
Dynamics Research Corporation (Nasdaq:DRCO), a leading provider of
innovative management consulting, engineering, and technology
solutions to federal and state governments, today announced the
Tennessee Family and Child Tracking System (TFACTS), a Statewide
Automated Child Welfare Information System, has passed a major
milestone and entered into pilot operations in the Mid-Cumberland
Region. Designed to streamline communications between child
services agencies all across Tennessee, TFACTS is a culmination of
what will be a 28-month joint effort with the Tennessee Department
of Children's Services.
"DRC is pleased to provide a proven, customized solution that
aligns with Tennessee's unique child welfare practices," said Jim
Regan, DRC's chairman and chief executive officer. "This statewide
child welfare practice model will allow the Department of
Children's Services to provide better care to children and families
in Tennessee through a greater focus on family reunification."
Twenty child services agencies in the Mid-Cumberland Region are
participating in the pilot phase. Whereas the state's legacy
system, TNKIDS, was a client-centric system, TFACTS provides a
family-centric management approach, enabling Department users to
document and access case-specific information to further the goals
of improved service delivery to children and families.
"The Tennessee program effectively supports cases from intake to
provider payment and closure and gives personnel from the
Department of Children's Services access to a central repository
for all case documents," said Tom Kelly, DRC's senior vice
president and general manager for Systems Engineering and
Information Technology. "By eliminating standalone, disjointed
legacy systems, TFACTS will have a major impact on how Department
and private providers carry out their daily mission of aiding
children and families."
The live pilot phase is slated for completion at the end of
July, at which point the system is expected to be released
statewide to approximately 5,000 users. This marks DRC's fourth
automated case management system launch, including successful
implementations in Colorado, New Hampshire, and Ohio.
