Dynamics Research Corporation Wins Four-Year Contract with Missile Defense Agency Worth More than $13 Million ANDOVER, Mass., April 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dynamics Research Corporation today announced that it has been awarded a four- year contract worth more than $13 million by the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) to provide scientific engineering and technical assistance to the MDA's Producibility and Manufacturing Technology division (MP). Under the terms of the agreement, DRC is guaranteed revenues of $3.1 million in the first year, with three option years of increasing value to a total of more than $13.1 million. The contract also includes options for two additional extensions of up to three years each, resulting in a potential contract length of 10 years and a potential value of more than $30 million. This competitively won contract is a continuation of a long-standing agreement with MP and includes oversight of new subcontractors. The scope of work includes a wide range of manufacturing preparedness activities to help MDA integrate new technologies and systems safely and successfully for the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). DRC will perform analysis as directed on priority BMDS risks that relate to performance, reliability, quality, cost and schedule. By engaging in technical evaluations with BMDS Element Systems, DRC will also identify needs and opportunities for the inclusion of new technologies and assess and report to MDA on the transition readiness of MDA-funded technologies. Other activities DRC will provide include the following: *Identify Small Business Independent Research programs that address BMDS issues and provide guidance to develop SBIR follow-on programs. *Serve as an MDA resource in the areas of industrial strategies, industrial best practices, reliability and manufacturing quality. *As directed, contrast MDA acquisition strategies with the health and trends of the appropriate industry sector and make industry level business and technical strategy recommendations. *Support MDA/MP in evaluating key contractors and subcontractors and developing recommendations when quality and reliability deficiencies are identified.
