Dynamics Research Corporation Sharpens Focus on Government's
Mission-Critical Priorities Solutions-Based Organization Will
Enable DRC to Further Extend Federal Government Success ANDOVER,
Mass., July 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Dynamics Research
Corporation (NASDAQ:DRCO) today announced it has sharpened its
government customer focus by consolidating and realigning its
operations to better facilitate the execution of its recently
developed business growth strategy, better address the
mission-critical needs of its customers and further strengthen the
delivery of proven solutions-based services. The change is intended
to significantly enhance DRC's effectiveness in successfully
partnering with existing government customers while positioning the
company's solutions as attractive alternatives for new customers to
consider and select. Three national priority markets are being
specifically targeted by DRC for strong growth: national defense,
homeland security, and health and human services. DRC has
consolidated several existing business units into two discrete
solutions-focused organizations. The Acquisition Management
Services Group will focus on delivering DRC's acquisition
management solutions primarily to the company's defense related
customers. The Systems Engineering and Information Technology Group
will focus on delivering DRC's Business Transformation, Automated
Case Management, Business Intelligence, Training and Network
Engineering solutions to the company's customers in both the
federal and state & local market segments. As part of this
reorganization, the company has created the new role of Business
Solution Development. Additionally, DRC's business development
organization has been re-focused to address the company's six
Strategic Business Areas (Logistics, C4ISR, Military Space,
Homeland Security, Readiness and Health & Human Services).
"DRC's 50-year record of highly satisfied federal government
customers can be matched by few IT services companies," said James
P. Regan, chairman and chief executive officer. "Leveraging this
truly exceptional legacy, DRC's forward looking growth strategy
aims to further strengthen the company's reputation as a proven
provider of the highest quality services. The solutions based
organizational realignment being announced today is a logical next
step in DRC's continuing process to strengthen its approach to
addressing the evolving government market. We will build upon our
successful, long-term client relationships, while adding new
government customers with mission- critical needs. I see this
change as a win-win, benefiting both DRC and its customers." The
reorganization follows the appointment of William C. Hoover as
DRC's president and chief operating officer in 2003 and the
subsequent adoption of business development and market growth
strategies to which the new organization is tightly aligned.
Concurrently, DRC announced a number of promotions to support the
realignment as it moves ahead in the government solutions
marketplace. These include: -- Finley Foster, Senior Vice
President, Business Development -- Dave Keleher, Senior Vice
President, Finance and Administration -- Tom Kelly, Senior Vice
President, Systems Engineering and Information Technology -- Bob
Smith, Senior Vice President, Acquisition Management Services --
Larry O'Brien, Vice President, Business Solutions Recent DRC wins
with Federal agencies include new multi-million dollar contracts
with the Department of Transportation, the Missile Defense Agency,
the Naval Sea Systems Command, and the Army Research Institute.
