The Hartford Promotes Gregory Boyko Boyko Credited with Leading The Hartford's International Expansion Into Retirement Saving Markets in Japan, Brazil and Europe SIMSBURY, Conn., Nov. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Gregory Boyko, head of international operations for The Hartford Financial Services Group (NYSE: HIG), has been promoted to executive vice president of Hartford Life, Inc., a subsidiary of The Hartford. As head of International Operations, Boyko is responsible for the expansion of The Hartford's businesses into the global marketplace. Under his leadership, The Hartford has become the No. 1 seller of variable annuities in Japan and a leading provider of life insurance, employee benefits and personal savings products in Brazil. Boyko is also heading the effort to establish a new international operation, The Hartford Europe. Boyko reports to Tom Marra, president and chief operating officer of Hartford Life, Inc. He also held executive positions at Connecticut Mutual Life and began his career as a senior tax accountant at Ernst & Young. Boyko is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and the University of Connecticut School of Law. He holds a number of professional degrees, including Certified Public Accountant, Chartered Life Underwriter and Chartered Financial Consultant. He is a member of the Connecticut and American Bar Associations, the Connecticut Society of CPAs, the Japan Society of New York, and is chairman of the international committee of the American Council of Life Insurers.
