LONDON--Commodities giant Glencore PLC (GLEN.LN) said Friday that independent non-executive director William Macaulay bought 1.7 million shares at 90.91 pence per share on Oct. 1.

No other details were disclosed.

Shares of Glencore at 0711 GMT trading 0.8% higher at 91 pence.
