Glencore PLC's (GLEN.LN) majority-owned subsidiary Katanga Mining Ltd. (KAT.T) said Monday that it has resumed limited cobalt exports from the Congo after a halt late last year due to unacceptably high levels of uranium.

Katanga's local subsidiary has produced around 930 metric tons of cobalt since January that complies with regulatory requirements. This represents around 23% of the total cobalt production over the same time, Katanga said.

Exports of the cobalt-hydroxide concentrate that meets regulatory requirements will resume immediately while Katanga works on an ion-exchange plant to provide a long-term solution to the uranium issue.
