G. Allen Flynt Joins Redwire as Senior Vice President of Space
Platforms and Robotics
Redwire Corporation (NYSE: RDW), a leader in space
infrastructure for the next generation space economy, announced
today that veteran aerospace executive G. Allen Flynt has been
hired as Senior Vice President of Space Platforms and Robotics.
In this role, Flynt will leverage over 35 years of industry
experience to drive development of new Redwire solutions and
systems to support the growing space industry. Flynt will manage
Redwire’s growing portfolio of critical technologies enabling human
spaceflight missions, platforms, and space robotics.
“Allen is a proven leader with a wealth of industry experience
and customer insight that will make an immediate impact on our
growth strategy as Redwire continues to deliver the critical
capabilities enabling humans to explore, live, and work in space,”
said Redwire Chairman and CEO Peter Cannito. “Under Allen’s
leadership, we are confident that Redwire’s next-gen technologies
will support the growing needs of our government and commercial
customers.”
Flynt joins Redwire from Collins Aerospace, where he led the
Civil Space and Sea Systems business for a decade, executing a
focused growth strategy and nearly doubling the segment’s revenue
from $250 million to $500 million over the course of his tenure. At
Collins, Flynt managed a robust human spaceflight mission
portfolio, which included providing key life support, air
revitalization, power generation, power management, and
distribution and thermal control systems for major government and
commercial programs including the International Space Station
(ISS), NASA’s Orion spacecraft, and Boeing’s Starliner
spacecraft.
Prior to joining Collins Aerospace, Flynt had a decorated
21-year career at NASA, where he held various senior positions
including Director of the EVA (extravehicular activity) Office,
Deputy Center Director at Ames Research Center, and Director of
Mission Operations at Johnson Space Center. He holds a Bachelor of
Science degree in industrial engineering from Texas A&M
University.
Flynt’s hiring follows Redwire’s recent announcement that the
company plans to build a state-of-the-art Microgravity Payload
Development and Space Operations facility in Floyd County, Indiana.
Redwire has developed over 20 research facilities for the ISS with
10 currently operating on-orbit enabling cutting-edge R&D and
the company anticipates increased demand for these innovative
capabilities as commercial utilization grows.
