KEMET Electronics Names Boan VP of Business Development

John (Johnny) Boan has been named vice president of business
development at KEMET Electronics Corporation (NYSE Amex: KEM).
Previously the company’s senior director for automotive
strategic marketing, Boan joined KEMET in 1980 and has gone on to
hold a variety of automotive-related management positions in
manufacturing, product management, sales and marketing.
A South Carolina native, he holds a bachelor of science degree
in chemistry from Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C.; a master’s
degree in business administration from the University of Texas in
Brownsville; a Ph.D. in business administration from Kennedy
Western University in Cheyenne, Wy., and a master's of science
degree in industrial engineering and quality from Eastern Michigan
University in Ypsilanti.
Boan is married and lives in Greenville, S.C., with his wife and
two children.
Headquartered in South Carolina, KEMET is a leading manufacturer
of tantalum, ceramic, film and electrolytic capacitors – all
critical subcomponents in hybrid electric-drive systems.
Last year the company signed a $31.7-million contract with the
U.S. Department of Energy’s (DOE) National Energy Technology
Laboratory to develop technology for electric-drive vehicles and
other alternative energy products. KEMET’s customers include many
of the world’s major automotive suppliers, including Bosch,
Continental, Delphi, Lear, Magneti Marelli, TRW and Visteon.
