20,000,000 6.5 per cent Cumulative Redeemable Preference Shares 2000-2010 of #1
each and 200,000 Cumulative Redeemable Participating Preference Shares 2000-2010
of #1 each in the capital of The Felixstowe Dock and Railway Company (the
"Preference Shares") were redeemed and cancelled on 31 July 2000 in accordance
with and pursuant to the terms and conditions attaching to them.  The Preference
Shares, which have been listed on the London Stock Exchange, will be de-listed
with effect from 2 August 2000.
