Beta Finance Corporation has on 27th October, 2000 entered into repurchase
agreements with holders of its shares and capital notes to repurchase at least
U.S. $925,000,000 in aggregate of such shares and capital notes, with settlement
expected to be on or about 14th March 2001, in exchange for the issue of income
notes as more fully described in the Supplementary Listing Particulars dated
30th October 2000.
