Motability Operations Group plc
Motability Operations Group plc ("Motability Operations") has
published its Annual Report and Accounts 2019 for the financial
year ended 30 September 2019 (the "Annual Report").
Motability Operations which, together with its subsidiary
Motability Operations Limited, delivers the Motability Scheme is
today making a donation of GBP52.3 million to the Motability
Foundation, an endowment fund created by Motability, the charity.
The Motability Foundation will enable Motability, the charity, to
continue to enhance the lives of disabled people by helping with
their transportation needs and independence.
This donation is in addition to the donation of GBP800 million
announced on 26 September 2019.
As previously announced, this additional donation is being made
in order to reach the revised capital baseline position. Following
this donation, Motability Operations has now achieved its revised
capital baseline position. This revised capital baseline position
remains consistent with Motability Operations' policy of holding
capital at a 99.99% confidence level (a one in ten thousand loss
event) plus a 15% buffer.
Accordingly, as indicated in the announcement on 26 September
2019, Motability Operations has recorded a loss of GBP370 million
for the financial year ending 30 September 2019. The Board
considers this will not impact Motability Operations' ability to
meet its actual and contingent liabilities, or result in it
becoming insolvent on either a balance sheet or cash flow
basis.
