Capital Hospitals (Issuer) plc, (the "Issuer") for the Barts and the London Hospitals Private Finance Initiative project refers to the terms and conditions of the notes as set out in the Prospectus dated 21 April 2006. The Issuer issued on 27 April 2006 (the "Issue Date") GBP25,000,000 Series A Variation Bonds and GBP25,000,000 Series B Variation Bonds (together, the "Variation Bonds"), GBP67,500,000 Series A Committed Variation Bonds and GBP67,500,000 Series B Committed Variation Bonds (together, the "CV Bonds") and GBP45,000,000 Series A Construction Inflation Variation Bonds and GBP45,000,000 Series B Construction Inflation Variation Bonds (together, the "CIV Bonds"), the Variation Bonds, the CV Bonds and the CIV Bonds together referred to as the "Relevant Variation Bonds".

On the Issue Date, the Relevant Variation Bonds were purchased by the Issuer, and have been held since then by the bond custodian on behalf of the Issuer.

The Issuer has obtained the consent of all relevant parties to the cancellation of the Relevant Variation Bonds. The Issuer hereby announces the cancellation of the Relevant Variation Bonds on 29 February 2016.

Accordingly, no Relevant Variation Bonds remain in issue.

PLEASE NOTE that this is PARTIAL WRITE-DOWN and cancellation of the Series A Index Linked Bonds and a PARTIAL-WRITE DOWN and cancellation of the Series B Index Linked Bonds (in each case of GBP137,500,000). IN NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE THE SERIES A INDEX LINKED BONDS OR THE SERIES B INDEX LINKED BONDS WRITTEN DOWN TO ZERO.
