Please be advised that H&CB has extended another six months for re-issuance of
Global Depositary Receipts (GDRs) from July 1, 2000 up to and including December
31, 2000 (subject to availability) under the Maximum Allowable Limit (MAL).

H&CB has given The Bank of New York its consent for re-issuance of GDRs pursuant
to the Deposit Agreement dated July 22, 1997.
